What RAST collects on rast.is, on the website concepts we build and in our emails to home builders, and what we do with it.
Terms of UseLast updated: November 3, 2026
Who we are
RAST is a website studio run by RAST RADEV LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("RAST", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect on rast.is, on the website concepts we host at addresses ending in rast.is, in the RAST portal, and in the emails we send to home builders and developers.
It does not cover the websites we build for our clients, even though they run on our platform. Each client publishes its own privacy policy and decides how information from its site is used.
The short version
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising trackers on rast.is.
- Our own site analytics doesn't use cookies.
- If you run a home building or development company, we may have found your business in public listings and emailed you about a free website concept.
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. If you use it, we won't email you or anyone at your company again.
Information you give us
When you request a website concept, contact us or fill in any form on rast.is, we keep what you enter. That is usually your name, your email address and your company's website, plus your phone number, company name and message if you add them. If the form has a box for email from us, we record whether you ticked it.
When you email us or reply to one of our emails, we keep the conversation. When you talk to us on the phone or on a call you booked, we may keep notes.
Each request lands in our leads list, and we get an email about it. If you ask for a concept and tick the box, we may email you when it's ready.
Information we collect automatically
Site analytics, without cookies
rast.is uses analytics built into our own platform. It doesn't set cookies or store anything in your browser. For each page view we record the page address (without anything after a "?"), the website that sent you (its domain only), the campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), the type of ad click ID in it (never the ID itself) and whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer. We also record clicks (which element, and where on the page) and how far down a page you scroll.
To count visitors without cookies, our server turns your IP address and browser details into a scrambled code, mixed with a secret that changes every day. We store the code, not your IP address, and the code can't connect your visits on different days. Click and scroll records carry no code at all.
Campaign tags in forms
If you arrive from a link with campaign tags, the site keeps those tags in your browser's session storage until you close the tab, and sends them with any form you submit. That tells us which campaign brought you. If you scan a RAST QR code, a cookie keeps the same tags for 30 days.
Server, security and error logs
Like any website, our hosting and network providers process your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. When a page or our servers hit an error, our error-monitoring service receives technical details such as the browser type, the page address and the error itself. Our platform also logs events such as "a form was submitted" so we can find and fix problems.
No third-party trackers
rast.is doesn't use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Meta Pixel, the LinkedIn Insight Tag or any advertising cookies. If we ever add one of them, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Our outreach to home builders and developers
We contact companies, not consumers. This section explains what we do if your company is one of them.
How we find businesses
We use a data provider that collects public Google Maps listings. From it we keep the business name, website, phone number, address, business category, Google rating, number of reviews and the link to the listing.
How we review your current website
We load your public website, take screenshots of it at computer and phone size, and check things like whether it works on phones, whether it has a contact form and when it was last updated. We note email addresses published on the site. We use AI tools to help review the site and draft our concepts and emails. A person reviews every concept and approves every email before it is sent.
Finding the right contact
We may use a contact-data service to find a work email address, name and job title for someone at your company. We only email an address that service has verified, an address your company publishes on its own website, or an address you gave us yourself.
Website concepts
If we see a clear opportunity, we build a concept of a new homepage for your company. It uses what is already public on your website: your logo, your photos and the facts on your site. The concept lives at a private address ending in rast.is. It isn't listed in search engines and opens only through the link we send you.
A concept expires 60 days after we send it to you (or 60 days after it is ready, if we never send it), unless you decide to go ahead with us. Its photos are deleted the day it expires, and the rest of the concept 30 days later. If you'd like it taken down sooner, tell us and we will.
What we see when you open a concept
The link in our email is unique to your company. When someone opens it, we can see that the link was used and how many times. On the concept itself we see which pages were viewed, which buttons were clicked and how far down each page someone scrolled. We use this to decide whether to follow up. Opening the link sets one cookie, rast_preview, which keeps the private concept open on that device for 30 days.
Forms on a concept send what you enter to RAST only, never to the company the concept was made for or to anyone else. If that company becomes our client and the concept becomes its live site, requests made through it go to that company.
Our emails
Our outreach emails may come from addresses on domains other than rast.is. They always name RAST and include our postal address and an unsubscribe link. Our email-sending service tells us when an email bounces or is opened, when a link in it is clicked, and when you reply, unsubscribe or tell us you're not interested.
Stopping our emails
Use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, reply and ask us to stop, or write to us at the address below. When you unsubscribe, or an email to you bounces, we add your email address and your company's web domain to our do-not-contact list and remove you from our sending service. We won't email you or anyone at your company again. We keep that list permanently so it keeps working.
If you have a RAST account
Clients and their staff sign in to the RAST portal on rast.is. We keep your name, email address, your role and a record of what you do in the portal, for example which pages you edited. Signing in sets cookies that keep you signed in for up to a year and remember which site you're working on and your language.
Cookies
These are the only cookies RAST sets. None of them is used for advertising.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| rast_preview | Keeps a private website concept open after you use our link. Set only on concept addresses. | 30 days |
| payload-token | Keeps you signed in to the RAST portal. Account holders only. | Up to 1 year |
| payload-tenant, portal-ui-locale and portal language cookies | Remember which site you're working on and your language in the portal. Account holders only. | 1 year |
| qr_attribution | Remembers which RAST QR code you scanned, so a request you send can be credited to it. | 30 days |
How we use information
- To answer your requests and build the concept you asked for.
- To find and contact businesses that may want our services, and to follow up.
- To run, secure and fix rast.is, our concepts and the portal.
- To understand which pages and campaigns are useful.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that work for us, when the law requires it, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Render | Hosts our website, database and background jobs |
| Cloudflare | Delivers and protects the site, and stores files and images |
| Resend | Sends email from rast.is, including alerts about new requests |
| Instantly | Sends our outreach emails, and finds and verifies work email addresses |
| Google Workspace | Hosts the mailboxes our outreach emails are sent from, and the video calls you book with us (Google Meet) |
| Quo | Runs our business phone line: calls, texts and voicemail |
| Outscraper | Supplies public Google Maps business listings |
| Google (PageSpeed Insights) | Loads public websites we review and returns screenshots and speed scores |
| Anthropic | AI tools that help us review websites and draft concepts and emails |
| Sentry | Error monitoring for our website and servers |
Calls you book on rast.is are scheduled by our own platform, not an outside booking service.
How long we keep it
- Analytics page views: 120 days. Click and scroll records: 90 days. After that we keep only daily totals by page and device.
- Our reviews and screenshots of a business's website: deleted 90 days after we decide not to contact that business.
- Concepts: photos are deleted when the concept expires, the rest 30 days later.
- Records of the emails we send (recipient, subject and status, never the content): 180 days.
- Platform event logs: 14 days to one year, depending on the type of event.
- Requests you send us, and our records of businesses we contacted: as long as we may still work together, or until you ask us to delete them.
- The do-not-contact list: permanently.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us from the email address in question and we'll answer within 30 days. If you ask us to delete your information, we'll keep only your email address and domain on our do-not-contact list, so we never contact you by mistake. Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights. We'll honor them where they apply, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. We don't track you across other websites, and no third party collects information about your activity across sites through rast.is. Our built-in analytics works the same whether the signal is on or off.
Security
The site uses HTTPS. Only RAST staff can see our leads, our records of businesses and our analytics. Website screenshots are kept in private storage. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that information will never be exposed.
Where information is stored
Our servers are in the United States. RAST's team works from Europe, so we also access information from there. Some of our service providers process it in other countries.
Children
rast.is is for businesses. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll say so at the top of this page.
